Stats
Bio
Recruited from Bentleigh after a dominant junior season in the Federal League where he booted over 100 goals, Maurie Bartlett was a towering key forward and ruckman standing 191cm. He broke into the Melbourne side during their premiership year of 1964, but the powerful Demons lineup proved difficult to crack, limiting him to just three senior appearances in his debut season. After missing the entire 1965 campaign and managing only a handful of games in early 1966, Bartlett crossed to the VFA mid-season in search of regular football. The move proved immediately fruitful, as he played in Prahran's Second Division premiership side later that year, eventually carving out a solid career in the Association and later the WAFL with Swan Districts.
