Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Footscray District, Max Graham was a diminutive rover and forward pocket who proved to be a dangerous goal-kicking option during his four seasons at the Western Oval. Standing just 170cm, he possessed a sharp sense for goal, averaging better than a major per game throughout his VFL career. Despite his finishing ability, Graham found himself on the fringe of a powerful Footscray lineup that reached the 1961 Grand Final, managing just six games during that runner-up season and missing out on the finals campaign. Unable to cement a permanent spot in the senior side, he departed the club at the end of 1963 and crossed to the VFA, where he continued his career as a prolific forward for Williamstown.
