Bio
Recruited from Swan Districts in the Western Australian Football League, Max Hellmrich was a lightweight interstate import who crossed the country to try his luck with St Kilda. A diminutive rover and small forward standing just 174cm, he arrived at the Junction Oval after a promising 1953 campaign in the West where he averaged nearly a goal a game. Hellmrich managed to break into the senior side for two matches during the 1954 VFL season, booting a single goal, but he was unable to secure a regular place in the lineup and his career at the elite level concluded after this brief cameo.
