Bio
Recruited from Tocumwal in the Riverina, Max Jeffers was a medium-sized forward who broke into the Melbourne lineup midway through the 1950 season. Standing 179cm, he made his debut in a Round 6 victory over Fitzroy at the MCG and enjoyed a charmed start to his VFL career, playing in wins in his first five appearances. Jeffers proved to be a capable avenue to goal, contributing five majors during his short stint in the senior side. However, after suffering his first loss against North Melbourne in Round 14, he fell out of favour with the selection committee and did not add to his game tally for the Demons.
