Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Camden Football Club in the local Federal League, Max Mitchinson was a lightly framed rover and forward who battled for opportunities during a lean period for St Kilda. He entered the VFL in 1949 but struggled to command a permanent place in the senior side, serving largely as a depth player who rotated through the forward line and midfield. Despite persisting for four seasons at the Junction Oval, Mitchinson never played more than seven games in a single year, finding himself on the fringe of selection throughout his tenure. He finished his VFL career in 1952 with 17 games and eight goals to his name, remaining a minor figure in the Saints' post-war history.
