Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Frankston Bombers on the Mornington Peninsula, Michael Blees was a tall utility who debuted for St Kilda as a teenager. Standing 191cm, he possessed the physical attributes of a key position player and was used sporadically to support a struggling Saints lineup that frequently occupied the bottom of the ladder. Despite his height, he found it difficult to command a regular spot in the senior side, managing just a handful of games each year before finishing his VFL career in 1983. His time in football is remembered with sadness, as his life was tragically cut short in April 1985 at the age of just 22.
