Bio
Recruited from Bairnsdale in the Gippsland league, Michael Ford was a mature-age arrival at the Western Oval who wasted little time establishing himself, playing finals in his debut 1985 season. A solid and reliable defender who could play tall or small, Ford became a fixture in the Bulldogs' back half throughout the late 1980s, accumulating nearly a century of games in the red, white and blue. Despite his consistency, he was delisted following the 1991 season, finding a brief lifeline with St Kilda via the pre-season draft. While his time at Moorabbin was limited to just two senior appearances, Ford later carved out a successful tenure in the VFA, winning a premiership as a player with Sandringham and later coaching Springvale to a flag.
