Bio
Recruited from Tunstall in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Michael George was a mid-sized prospect who earned a brief trial with the club during the 1910 season. He made his debut against Fitzroy at the MCG and featured in three matches during a difficult mid-year stretch where the team failed to register a win. Although he initially returned to local football with Mitcham, George displayed significant persistence, rejoining Melbourne for training in late 1912 and completing the 1913 pre-season in an unsuccessful bid to revive his VFL career. Occasionally misidentified in historical records as "Matthew" George, he eventually crossed to the VFA, obtaining a clearance to Prahran nearly a decade after his initial League appearance.
