Bio
Recruited from Katamatite in the Goulburn Valley, Michael Howard was a promising forward who first tasted success as a member of Melbourne's 1983 Under 19s premiership side. He was rewarded with a senior call-up late in the 1984 season, making his debut in a Round 21 victory over St Kilda at Waverley Park and retaining his place for the final match of the year against Richmond. Despite this brief taste of senior football, he spent the following season in the reserves before continuing his career in the VFA. Howard holds a unique place in Demons history as the record holder for the most senior games played in the number 58 guernsey.
