Bio
Recruited from the Queanbeyan Tigers in the Australian Capital Territory, Michael Kennedy joined the Brisbane Bears via the 1987 National Draft as the club built its inaugural list. A diminutive rover standing at just 175cm, he debuted in 1988 and spent three seasons on the Gold Coast, offering pace and crumbing ability in the Bears' formative years. After 23 games at the top level, he was delisted at the end of 1990 and moved to the SANFL, where he became a key contributor in West Adelaide’s run to the 1991 Grand Final. Kennedy eventually returned to his native Canberra, cementing a strong local legacy by winning the ACTAFL’s prestigious Mulrooney Medal in 1994 and serving as captain-coach of the Tigers.
