Stats
Bio
A speedy midfielder recruited to inject pace into the Melbourne engine room, Michael Polley arrived at the Demons via pick 34 in the 1994 National Draft after impressive form with the Northern Knights and Prahran. He spent his entire first season developing in the reserves, knocking on the door as an emergency for the final round of 1995, before finally earning his senior debut in Round 9, 1996 against Essendon. Polley showed immediate promise with 15 disposals in his first outing and held his spot for five consecutive matches, but he was omitted following a heavy loss to Richmond and never regained his place in the senior side. Delisted at the end of the year, he was thrown a lifeline by Collingwood in the 1997 Rookie Draft but failed to crack the Magpies' lineup, eventually continuing his football journey in the SANFL with Glenelg.
