Bio
Recruited from County Longford in Ireland, Michael Quinn arrived at Essendon as an international rookie with a promising background in Gaelic football. He made an immediate impact by earning a senior debut in Round 2 of the 2009 season against Fremantle, setting a record for the quickest transition from recruitment to AFL debut for an Irish convert. A pacy utility capable of playing in defence or through the midfield, Quinn showcased natural athleticism and evasion skills, but struggled to maintain consistency at the elite level after his initial breakthrough. Unable to cement a regular position in the Bombers' lineup, he added just six more games over the following two seasons before being delisted at the end of 2011, subsequently returning to Ireland to resume his inter-county career.
