Bio
Recruited from Echuca, Michael Rolfe was a pacy and skilful wingman who looked destined for a long career after a breakout debut season with Richmond in 1983. His clean ball use and speed saw him win the Tigers' Best First Year Player award, but he was unable to consolidate his spot in the senior side the following year. After a stint in the amateurs with University Blacks, he was thrown a VFL lifeline by Mick Malthouse at Footscray for the 1986 season. Rolfe played just two games for the Bulldogs, including a season-opener against his former club, before finishing his major league career to become a decorated captain-coach in regional Victoria.
