Bio
Recruited from Horsham, Michael Sheldon was a highly rated junior who represented Victoria at the Under 17 level alongside future league stars like Justin Madden and Roger Merrett. A strong and pacy utility standing 180cm, he possessed the versatility to play multiple roles but found it difficult to break into the senior side permanently, with more than half of his career tally played from the interchange bench. Despite his limited opportunities, Sheldon was part of the Bombers' 1979 finals campaign, featuring in the Elimination Final loss to Fitzroy. After winning the club's Reserves Most Improved Player award in his debut season, he eventually departed Windy Hill to continue his football journey in the WAFL with Subiaco.
