Bio
Recruited from Benalla in the Ovens and Murray Football League, Michael Stilo was a small utility who began his VFL career with North Melbourne. He managed a single senior appearance at Arden Street in 1973, struggling to break into a Kangaroos lineup that was rapidly building toward a premiership era under Ron Barassi. Seeking greater opportunity, Stilo transferred to South Melbourne, where he became a serviceable depth player at the Lake Oval across the 1975 and 1976 seasons. After his brief stint at the top level, he continued his football journey in the VFA with Brunswick before eventually returning to his original club, Benalla, as captain-coach in the early 1980s.
