Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Ballarat Football Club, Mick Cooke joined North Melbourne as a 21-year-old ahead of the 1959 season. A mid-sized utility capable of rotating through the flanks, he broke into the senior side midway through his debut year, playing 11 games and proving a serviceable addition to Wally Carter's squad. However, Cooke was unable to cement a permanent spot the following season, managing just five appearances in 1960 before his time at VFL level came to an end. He departed Arden Street with 16 games and five goals to his name, typifying the many country recruits who briefly tested their mettle in the city during that era.
