Bio
Recruited from CBC St Kilda, Mick Dwyer was a tenacious rover and small forward who spent a decade at Moorabbin without ever quite establishing himself as a permanent fixture in the senior side. Possessing clean skills on both sides of the body and a sharp nose for goal, he enjoyed his most consistent patch of football during the early 1990s, playing a role in the Saints' resurgence under Ken Sheldon and featuring in the 1991 finals series. Despite his talent, Dwyer struggled for continuity due to injuries and stiff competition for midfield spots, resulting in a stop-start career at Linton Street. After being delisted by St Kilda following the 1995 season, he was thrown a lifeline by Fitzroy, where he added a handful of games during the Lions' tumultuous final year in the competition before retiring.
