Bio
Recruited from Williamstown in the VFA, Mick Kelly was a diminutive rover who carved out a respected five-season career at the Western Oval. Standing just 173cm, he relied on his agility and kicking skills to compete in the midfield, often punching above his weight division to win possession. Kelly enjoyed his most consistent campaign in 1978, where he played 19 games and became a regular fixture in the Bulldogs' lineup, accumulating plenty of the ball during a challenging era for the club. He remained a serviceable contributor for Footscray until his departure at the end of the 1980 season, leaving behind a legacy as a determined small man who made the most of his opportunities at the top level.
