Bio
Recruited from St Mark's, Mick Kennedy established himself as a disciplined and versatile utility player during Carlton's powerful late-1980s era. Although he often flew under the radar compared to the team's superstars, he became an integral component of the 1987 premiership side, famously executing a defensive forward role on Hawthorn's Russell Greene in the Grand Final to help stifle the Hawks' drive. Capable of playing as a tagger, defender, or defensive forward, his time at Princes Park ended abruptly when he was controversially delisted following the 1989 season. He was thrown a lifeline by Sydney in the pre-season draft, playing one final year with the Swans before retiring to pursue a successful coaching career in the VFA and local leagues.
