Bio
Recruited from the famous football nursery of Assumption College, Mick Pavone arrived at South Melbourne with a reputation as a prolific scorer after booting over 100 goals in his final school year. He made an immediate impression as a teenager in the 1970 VFL season, showing a glimpse of his potential with a four-goal haul against Essendon in just his second senior game. Despite his natural eye for goal, the young forward struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Swans' lineup, managing 10 appearances across two seasons at the Lake Oval. Following his stint in the VFL, Pavone moved to the Ovens & Murray League, where he became a key forward for Wangaratta and topped the club's goalkicking in 1974.
