Stats
Bio
A towering recruit from Coleraine in the Western Border Football League, Horsburgh arrived at Victoria Park in 1980 to provide ruck depth for a premiership-contending Magpies outfit. Standing 197cm, he was a massive physical presence for the era and was immediately handed a debut in the season opener, managing to hold his spot for the first month of football. However, his path to regular senior selection was effectively blocked by the dominance of superstar teammate and reigning Brownlow Medallist Peter Moore. After just four games and a solitary goal, Horsburgh departed the VFL mid-season to return to the country as captain-coach of Casterton, trading a potentially long stint as a backup for a leading role in regional football.
