Bio
Mike McMahon was a fringe player whose VFL career was defined by two brief stints at Fitzroy separated by a tenure in the Association. Debuting for the Maroons in 1924 as a 22-year-old, he managed just four appearances in his first season before struggling to retain his place in a competitive lineup. In search of regular senior football, McMahon obtained a permit to cross to Brunswick in the VFA early in the 1925 season, where he spent three years playing in the second tier. He returned to Fitzroy in 1928 for a second attempt at the top level, but added only three more games to his tally over two seasons. A small utility standing 175cm, McMahon provided depth for the club during the late 1920s but ultimately could not secure a permanent spot in the senior 22.
