Bio
Selected by Port Adelaide with pick 14 in the 2019 National Draft, Miles Bergman arrived at Alberton via the Sandringham Dragons as a highly touted athletic prospect. After a development year in 2020, he broke into the senior side the following season and quickly established himself as a versatile key to the Power's structure. While initially rotated through various roles, Bergman found his niche as an intercepting defender and wingman, where his vertical leap, courage in the air, and capacity to break lines with speed became critical assets for the team's transition game.
Bergman's career trajectory faced a pivotal moment in 2023 when, amid significant interest from Victorian clubs seeking to lure him home, he rejected rival offers to sign a contract extension with Port Adelaide. This commitment solidified his standing within the playing group, allowing him to mature into a reliable senior figure in the club's backline. Now having surpassed the 100-game milestone, Bergman is regarded as one of the club's most consistent performers, balancing defensive accountability with an attacking flair that drives the Power from the back half.
