Bio
A mature-age recruit from North Adelaide, Mitch Clisby was selected by Melbourne in the 2013 Rookie Draft after impressing scouts with his endurance and ball use in the SANFL. He broke into the Demons' senior side midway through his debut season, playing eight consecutive games as a running defender who could accumulate possessions, but he struggled to break back into the lineup the following year and was delisted at the end of 2014. His AFL story had a unique postscript in early 2015 when he was signed by Essendon as a short-term "top-up" player, representing the Bombers during the NAB Challenge to cover list gaps caused by the supplements saga provisional suspensions. Following his brief time at the top level, Clisby returned to North Adelaide where he cemented his legacy as a club great, captaining the Roosters and playing a key role in their 2018 premiership victory.
