Bio
Recruited from the Northern Eagles in Queensland, Mitchell Hahn was secured by the Western Bulldogs with pick 37 in the 1999 National Draft. He quickly established himself as a physically imposing figure at the Whitten Oval, using his tank-like frame to play as a battering ram in both the forward line and midfield. While he was a capable goal kicker, Hahn was best known for his selfless physical work; his ability to crash packs created opportunities for the Bulldogs' faster outside runners, and his ferocious tackling pressure inside 50 became a key structural element during the club's resurgence under Rodney Eade.
Hahn's career concluded with an unusual list management manoeuvre at the end of 2010. Squeezed out of the senior list due to salary cap pressures, he was delisted but immediately re-drafted by the Bulldogs as a mature-age rookie for the 2011 season. He played out one final year providing depth and mentorship to the playing group before retiring. Transitioning from a contested ball beast to the coaching box, Hahn left a legacy as a hard-at-it utility who consistently sacrificed his own game for the benefit of the team structure.
