Bio
Recruited from Clarence in Tasmania, Mitchell Hibberd was originally selected by North Melbourne with pick 33 in the 2015 National Draft. A running defender and big-bodied midfielder noted for his elite endurance, his initial stint at Arden Street was frustrated by persistent injury setbacks which restricted him to just four senior appearances before being delisted at the end of 2018. Hibberd successfully revitalised his career in the VFL with Williamstown, where a dominant 2019 campaign earned him Team of the Year honours and a lifeline from Essendon via the Rookie Draft. He added five games to his tally for the Bombers during the disrupted 2020 season, primarily utilised in the midfield, but was unable to cement a permanent spot in the side and was delisted for a second time at the conclusion of the year.
