Bio
Recruited from West Brisbane with the second overall selection in the 1992 National Draft, Nathan Chapman entered the AFL with high expectations as a talented key position prospect. Possessing a powerful frame and a prodigious right boot, he was utilised as a utility at both ends of the ground during his time with the Brisbane Bears but struggled to cement a permanent spot in a rapidly strengthening lineup. After featuring in the club's 1996 preliminary final campaign, he was traded to Hawthorn ahead of the 1998 season in search of greater opportunities. Despite showcasing his trademark long kicking at Glenferrie Oval, inconsistent form and injuries ultimately curtailed his playing days at just 25 years of age. Chapman arguably found his greatest sporting influence post-career, leveraging his kicking mechanics to pursue NFL opportunities before founding Prokick Australia, an academy that has successfully transitioned numerous Australians into American college football and the NFL.
