Stats
Bio
Recruited from Central District as a zone selection for Port Adelaide’s inaugural squad, Nathan Steinberner was a courageous small midfielder who found opportunities limited at the elite level. Despite flashing potential as an "excitement machine" with the ability to kick long goals on the run, he struggled to cement a regular spot in a Power midfield that was quickly developing into a premiership contender, managing just 20 senior appearances across five seasons. After being delisted at the end of 2001, he returned full-time to the SANFL and established himself as a club legend at the Bulldogs. Steinberner became a central figure in Central District's dominant early-2000s dynasty, playing in five premierships and capping his career with a Jack Oatey Medal as best on ground in the 2004 Grand Final.
