Bio
Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick 24 in the 2012 National Draft, Nathan Wright arrived at St Kilda as a combat-ready prospect capable of playing as a lockdown defender or defensive forward. Noted for his physical aggression and tackling pressure, he was often tasked with nullifying dangerous opponents, bringing a hard edge to the Saints' lineup during a transitional period for the club. Despite earning a contract extension in 2016, his career was continually frustrated by soft-tissue injuries and an inability to secure a permanent role in Alan Richardson's best 22. After failing to add to his game tally in 2018, playing exclusively in the VFL for Sandringham, Wright was delisted following six seasons on the list.
