Bio
Recruited from Broome via the Claremont colts, Neil Marshall was a skilful Indigenous half-back flanker who had to bide his time before breaking into the West Coast line-up. Taken with pick 66 in the 1995 National Draft, he spent his first season developing in the WAFL, where he played a key role in Claremont's 1996 premiership side while waiting for a senior call-up. He eventually made his AFL debut against Sydney at the SCG in 1997, gathering a respectable 13 disposals, but found it difficult to secure a permanent spot in the Eagles' strong defensive rotation. Marshall managed just four senior appearances over two seasons before being delisted at the end of 1998, though he continued to forge a successful state league career with Subiaco and represented Western Australia twice at interstate level.
