Bio
Recruited from VFA club Northcote as a mature-age key defender, Neil Peart carved out a unique career as a 1980s journeyman who represented three league clubs in the space of four seasons. He initially broke into the VFL with Collingwood in 1982, utilising his strong marking and physical presence at centre half-back, before crossing to Richmond the following year. His trajectory took another twist when he moved to Footscray in 1985, where he played a valuable role in the Bulldogs' finals campaign, only to return to Punt Road for a second stint with the Tigers in 1986. Despite his resilience and ability to lock down opposition forwards, Peart’s time at the elite level was heavily curtailed by recurring injuries which eventually forced his retirement.
