Bio
Recruited from the local pathways of Anakie and Geelong West, Neil Tucker was a versatile utility who became a consistent contributor for Geelong during the late 1930s. Possessing a solid frame and the ability to impact the contest, he played the majority of his football at Corio Oval before the Second World War severely disrupted the league. When Geelong was forced into recess for the 1942 and 1943 seasons due to wartime travel restrictions and personnel shortages, Tucker sought opportunities elsewhere to keep his career alive, resulting in a brief two-game stint with Carlton in 1943. He demonstrated his loyalty by immediately returning to the Cats when they rejoined the VFL in 1944, adding a final season to his tally before retiring as a respected servant of the club who helped bridge the gap between the pre-war and post-war eras.
