Teams

Recruited from Swan Districts with pick 51 in the 2008 National Draft, Neville Jetta initially joined Melbourne as a small forward but struggled to find consistency during a tumultuous period for the club. His career reached a crossroads at the end of 2013 when he was delisted, only to be thrown a lifeline by incoming coach Paul Roos via the Rookie Draft. This moment sparked a career-defining transformation, as Jetta reinvented himself into a disciplined small defender who became critical to the team's structure.

Throughout the second half of his career, Jetta established himself as one of the competition's most reliable lockdown operators, regularly tasked with nullifying the game's most dangerous small forwards. Renowned for his courage, tackling pressure, and team-first ethos, he became a fixture in the Demons' back six and eventually ascended to the leadership group. Although individual accolades often eluded him due to the unglamorous nature of his role, he retired in 2021 widely respected for his resilience and significant contribution to Melbourne's cultural rebuild.
