Teams

Recruited from West Torrens in the SANFL, Neville Roberts arrived at Richmond in 1975 and made an immediate impact as a potent forward target. He quickly established himself as a key part of the Tigers' attack, topping the club's goalkicking in his debut season with an ability to present strongly on the lead and convert opportunities. Despite maintaining a high strike rate of nearly two goals per game over three seasons, Roberts opted to return to South Australia at the end of 1977. While his VFL career was relatively brief, he went on to cement his status as a football great in the SANFL, crossing to Norwood where he won the 1982 Magarey Medal and played in the 1984 premiership, ultimately being remembered as a prolific full-forward who proved his class in arguably the two strongest leagues in the country.
