Recruited from Warrnambool, Neville Taylor was a durable defender and utility who served Fitzroy across two separate stints. He made his debut in 1974, quickly establishing himself as a versatile option in the back half before moving to Western Australia to play for East Perth for two seasons. Upon his return to the Lions in 1978, Taylor cemented his spot in the senior side, becoming a key contributor during the club's competitive resurgence under Robert Walls. He was a regular member of the starting lineup during Fitzroy's 1979 and 1981 finals campaigns, providing steady defensive coverage and experience alongside the team's high-profile stars. Taylor retired at the end of 1982, having played a vital role in stabilizing the club's defence during his second tenure.
