Bio
Recruited from Glenhuntly Amateurs, Neville Waller was a steady defender who experienced the ultimate success almost immediately upon arriving at Victoria Park. He etched his name into Magpie folklore during his debut season, holding down centre half-back in the 1953 premiership triumph over Geelong. A strong mark and disciplined operator, Waller remained a fixture in the Collingwood backline during the club's mid-1950s contention window, shifting to the back pocket for the 1955 and 1956 Grand Final defeats to Melbourne. After six seasons and three Grand Final appearances, he left the VFL to captain-coach Wangaratta, where he later steered the club to an Ovens & Murray premiership.
