Bio
A remarkable example of persistence, Nic Reid carved out an unconventional pathway to the AFL as a mature-age recruit. A qualified school teacher playing for North Beach in the amateur Perth Football League, he initially joined West Coast as a top-up player for their WAFL side before earning a rookie spot via the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection period in 2020. Operating as a high-pressure small forward with natural goal sense, Reid broke into the senior side during the club's Queensland hub stint. Although his AFL career was limited to three games and a solitary goal on debut against Hawthorn, his rapid ascent from amateur footy to the elite level remains a notable chapter in the club's disrupted 2020 campaign, ending when he was delisted at the conclusion of that season.
