Stats
Bio
Recruited directly from Diggers Rest in the Riddell District Football League, Nicholas Bruton was a towering ruck prospect taken by the Western Bulldogs with pick 7 in the 2001 Pre-Season Draft. Standing 201cm, he was a raw talent who spent his first two years developing his slight frame in the reserves before finally earning a senior call-up against Adelaide in Round 9, 2003. Bruton managed just two games at the highest level, struggling to translate his height into dominance against experienced AFL ruckmen before returning to the state league. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2003 season and later attempted to revive his career with Coburg in the VFL, but a major knee reconstruction ultimately forced him into early retirement.
