Bio
Nick Shipley holds a significant place in Greater Western Sydney history as the first graduate of the club's Western Sydney academy to play a senior game. A Campbelltown local selected with pick 64 in the 2017 National Draft, his debut represented a milestone for the Giants' development pathways in a traditional rugby league heartland. Standing 188cm, Shipley was a big-bodied inside midfielder known for his contested ball-winning ability and tackling pressure, attributes that saw him consistently dominate at state league level. However, he struggled to translate that form into regular senior selection, largely due to the difficulty of breaking into a star-studded midfield rotation featuring the likes of Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly, and Callan Ward. Unable to cement a spot in the best 22, he managed just six games over four seasons before being delisted at the end of 2021.
