Bio
Recruited by St Kilda with pick eight in the 2017 National Draft, Nick Coffield established himself early in his career as a composed intercept defender with elite distribution skills. His time at Moorabbin peaked during a breakout 2020 season where he finished fifth in the Trevor Barker Award, but his progress was subsequently derailed by significant injury setbacks, including a torn ACL that wiped out his entire 2022 campaign. After struggling to regain a permanent place in the Saints' backline, Coffield requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs at the end of 2023 in search of a fresh start. Although his transition to Whitten Oval was initially hampered by shoulder surgery in early 2024, he continues to offer a steady hand across half-back, relying on his reading of the play and disposal efficiency when fit for selection.
