Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect from Norwood with pick 70 in the 2010 National Draft, Nick Duigan made an immediate impact at Carlton as a courageous and intelligent defender. Despite entering the system late, he cemented a spot in the Blues' backline during his debut season, valued for his intercept marking and willingness to back into packs. However, his most enduring contribution came at the other end of the ground during the 2013 Elimination Final against Richmond; promoted from the emergency list as a late inclusion, Duigan was swung forward to boot four match-winning goals in front of a massive MCG crowd. Chronic knee injuries forced his premature retirement the following pre-season, but that singular finals performance ensured he remains a cult figure at Princes Park.
