Bio
Recruited to Port Adelaide in the 2005 National Draft, Nick Lower entered the league at the same time as his twin brother Ed, though he carved out his own reputation as a tenacious, hard-tackling midfielder who had to fight for opportunities across three different clubs. Initially unable to cement a permanent spot in the Power lineup, he was delisted following the 2009 season but earned an AFL lifeline with Fremantle via the rookie list after a dominant SANFL campaign with Norwood. His time at the Dockers produced arguably his best football, as he emerged as a prolific ball-winner and shutdown specialist during the 2011 season, yet he was surprisingly cutout again at the end of 2012 due to list management pressures. Lower finished his career as a journeyman at the Western Bulldogs, where his contested work and defensive pressure were utilised in a tagging role for one final season before his retirement.
