Bio
Born in St Mawgan, Cornwall, Nick Marshall was an English-born recruit who made an unusually late entry into elite football, debuting for Geelong at the age of 31 in the 1907 VFL season. Standing 185cm, he was a genuine giant for the era, providing the Pivotonians with a substantial physical presence as a ruckman or key position player during a transitional period for the club. His senior career was fleeting, consisting of just three games in his debut year and a solitary appearance in 1908 before he drifted out of the league. Marshall remains a statistical curiosity as one of Geelong's oldest debutants, representing the amateur era's tendency to draw upon local mature-age talent to fill gaps in the lineup.
