Bio
Recruited from the local SANFL Magpies as a zone selection for Port Adelaide’s inaugural AFL list, Nigel Fiegert was a rugged key position player capable of operating at either end of the ground. He missed selection for the Power’s historic first match but debuted the following week in the club’s first-ever home game against Essendon. While often deployed in defence, Fiegert’s standout AFL performance came when he was swung forward against the Western Bulldogs in 1997, booting three crucial goals in a major upset win at Optus Oval. Despite his versatility, he struggled to command a regular spot in the senior lineup over three seasons and was delisted at the end of 1999, though he cemented his legacy at state level as a three-time premiership player for the Magpies.
