Bio
Recruited from Hoppers Crossing via Geelong College, Nigel Kellett was a zippy wingman and half-forward who added blistering pace to the Footscray lineup of the early 1990s. Debuting in 1989, he quickly established himself as a dangerous outside runner, known for his ability to break lines and deliver the ball with precision. While not a heavy contested ball winner, Kellett was a vital link player during the Bulldogs' resurgence under Terry Wheeler, often recognised by fans for his distinctive running style—dashing down the flank with his tongue out as he drove the team forward.
Kellett played his best football during the club’s strong 1992 campaign, where he polled well in the Brownlow Medal and cemented his spot in a competitive midfield. He remained a loyal servant to the club throughout the decade, though he battled for regular senior selection in his final few seasons. He showed persistence to reach the 100-game milestone in 1997, playing four games that year before departing the club as the list underwent significant changes under new coach Terry Wallace. He leaves a legacy as a skilled, pacy utility who gave his all for the Bulldogs over nine seasons.
