Bio
Recruited from Sandy Bay in the Tasmanian Football League, Nigel Palfreyman was a tall midfielder who entered the AFL via the Brisbane Bears in the 1990 National Draft. After spending time developing his craft, he enjoyed a promising breakout season in 1992, playing 15 games and impressing as a running option through the centre and half-forward lines. However, he fell out of favour the following year and failed to register a senior appearance in 1993, eventually being traded to Fitzroy alongside teammate David Bain. His stint with the Lions was brief, yielding just a single senior game in 1994 against Richmond before he departed the AFL system. Palfreyman subsequently returned to his home state, where he remained a standout figure in Tasmanian football and a key contributor to their representative side in the mid-1990s.
