A product of the Oakleigh Chargers, Noah Answerth’s journey to the elite level was nearly derailed by a severe back fracture in his draft year, leading him to slide to pick 55 where Brisbane took a punt on his recovery in 2018. He quickly established himself as a "pest" in the Lions' backline, playing as a lockdown small defender who thrived on physical confrontation and shutting down dangerous opposition forwards. His career has been defined by significant resilience; after missing the entire 2021 season with groin issues and watching the 2023 Grand Final loss from the stands, he fought his way back into the best 22 to claim a premiership medallion in 2024. While a ruptured Achilles in 2025 presented another major hurdle, Answerth remains a highly respected figure at the Lions, valued for his sacrificial defensive acts and unyielding competitive nature.
