Stats
Bio
A Morrish Medal-winning product of the North Melbourne thirds and University High School, Noel Alford was a dangerous, sharp-shooting rover who made an immediate impact at senior level. He possessed an uncanny nose for goal, finishing third in the Shinboners’ goalkicking tally in both of his VFL seasons despite playing as a small. His time at Arden Street was surprisingly brief, as he crossed to the VFA midway through 1954 to join Williamstown, where he promptly played in a premiership side. Alford later cemented his reputation in country football, becoming a standout captain-coach for Traralgon where he topped the league goalkicking and won the Latrobe Valley Football League's best and fairest award.
