Bio
Arriving at Footscray in 1964, Noel Fincher was a tall, lightly-framed utility capable of plugging holes across the ground. Standing 185cm, he possessed the height of a key position player for the era but played with the mobility of a flanker, often relying on his overhead marking and long kicking rather than brute strength in the contest. He served the Bulldogs for five seasons, drifting between the senior side and the reserves as he compiled 46 games in the tricolours. In search of greater opportunities, Fincher crossed to North Melbourne in 1969, where he spent two seasons providing depth at Arden Street. Although he did not cement a permanent spot in the starting lineup, he remained a handy backup option until his retirement in 1970, concluding a respectable six-year tenure in the VFL.
