Teams

Recruited from Red Cliffs in the Sunraysia district, Noel Jenkinson developed through the Richmond under-19s program, where he was a key member of their 1973 premiership side before breaking into the seniors. A tall and close-checking full-back, he was tasked with the formidable job of filling the void left by retiring club great Dick Clay in the Tigers' last line of defence. Jenkinson was known for his discipline and his booming right boot, famously reaching the final of the World of Sport long-distance kicking competition during his time at Punt Road. After five seasons and 57 games with Richmond, he crossed to South Melbourne for a two-year stint as the club prepared for its relocation era. Despite establishing himself as a reliable defender, Jenkinson made the decision to retire from VFL football at just 24 years of age to focus on his career in accountancy.
